misrepresenting someones aremuemnt to make it easier to attack someone is called the strawman approach. It is not very ethical when handling a argument or situation. It means you a really dumbing down a person or a situation. Also black or white where two alternatives states are presented as the only possibilities exist. really a means of undermining someone

    Gheran,
Your topic on hope is really creative and interesting! I really like how you interviewed different people to get different points of views and opinions on hope. I think that’ll be helpful in showing how hope means different things to different people. Since your topic is opinion based and it’s hard to find scholarly sources related to it, maybe you can narrow down your topic a little bit more so it’s not as opinion based. Maybe you could look into the psychological aspect of hope. For example, look into the background of the people you have interviewed and try to find scholarly sources that explain why hope means certain things to certain people.
Good luck in the rest of your research!

  2. Good job on your presentation...!

hope is a great topic as it relates not only to religion but seeing things in a different point of view. Seeing the glass half full instead of half empty. Obama was a great example of using hope to persuade people to want to change and do better not only in education but for the hope of the country.

you had good sources which will help you in the further research and development of your annotated bibliography. Presentation was smooth and the personal story of bringing it in relation to yourself was key. I think the use of statistics and sources of people who have studies this such as religious sources may be helpful in the end result.
